“Salone Titi” è uno spazio che mette al centro il corpo e determinate pratiche estetiche ad esso legate, con l’intento di restituirne il valore storico e culturale. L’ evento prevede un talk di introduzione sulla storia e i costumi di antiche arti quali tatuaggi, piercing e tooth gems, le cui origini ed i relativi significati culturali sono radicate in diverse tradizioni indigene, africane e non. Arianna Campana, in arte Ary body art, è una piercer e insegnante di storia del costume sull’arte del piercing basata a Firenze. Il format “Salone Titi” è stato realizzato in collaborazione con Carmela Iziegbe, fondatrice del brand di accessori per il corpo Aku Body Jewelry. Attraverso l’identità culturale diffusa dal brand, le sue creazioni artigianali offrono la possibilità di scoprire e approfondire la storia del Regno del Benin, attuale Edo State in Nigeria. L’ evento prevede un talk di introduzione e presentazione delle artiste. A seguire, l’open studio rimane accessibile senza appuntamento per consulenze e prestazioni in loco.

"Salone Titi" is a space dedicated to bodies and aesthetic practices, with the intention of returning historical and cultural values related to them. The talk will introduce the history and customs of ancient arts such as tattoos, piercings and tooth gems, which have roots in various Indigenous traditions, African and otherwise. Arianna Campana, also known as Ary body art, is a piercer and costume history teacher based in Florence. “Salone Titi” format was created in collaboration with Carmela Iziegbe, founder of the brand Aku Body Jewelry, which makes body accessories. Through the identity of the brand, her craft creations are an opportunity to discover and deepen the history of the Benin Kingdom, nowadays Edo State, Nigeria. After the talk, the open studio remains accessible for on-site consultations and services.
